Charges against Marian Price a pretext for Internment |

The Irish Freedom Committee utterly condemns today’s trumped up charges
of "promoting terrorism" against veteran Irish republican Marian Price.
These blanket charges are without substance of any kind and are nothing
less than a sham concocted to re-introduce whole scale internment and
erase free speech and free assembly from the streets of Ireland. The fact that her arrest comes as a human rights crisis takes place at Maghaberry Jail, the like unseen since before the 1981 Hunger Strike in Long Kesh, shows the length the occupying British government will take to erase its dirty record of rampant human rights abuses in Ireland. Marian Price has worked tirelessly for decades to expose and correct human rights abuses in British and Irish jails, and is a humanitarian in every sense of the word. The real promoters of terrorism in Ireland are the British government, its security forces, and the titular head of the British Army who now heads to Dublin; Queen Elizabeth. ########## |
